Our Story

Hi there, and welcome to Life-Giving Love Shop!

We're Josh and Bethany Clark, proud parents to three beautiful babies (and counting)!

Our story began during the birth of our first daughter. I (Bethany) had always dreamed of having a natural, unmedicated birth, inspired by my own mother, who gave birth to all 13 of her children unmedicated.

When the big day finally arrived, things didn't go quite as planned. I was admitted to the hospital for a medically necessary induction, and shortly after arriving, I was strapped into the standard fetal monitoring belts. I quickly discovered just how uncomfortable they were! Not only were they tight around my belly, but the monitors constantly slipped out of place.

Thankfully, my mom was there to advocate for me, and my nurse brought in a fetal monitoring belly band to try instead. What a difference! It was soft, comfortable, and kept the monitors in place as I moved through labor. I couldn't believe something so simple could make such a difference.

After a long night of labor, I began to feel exhausted and discouraged. Just when I needed it most, my mom gently reminded me, "Remember, this is life-giving love." Those words gave me the encouragement I needed to keep going, and shortly afterward, I was holding our precious baby girl!

Afterward, my mom jokingly suggested, "We should make those belly bands, but make them cuter!" We laughed, but the idea stuck with us.

A year and a half later, after welcoming our second child, we decided to bring that little idea to life. We wanted to create beautiful, comfortable belly bands that could make labor a little easier for other mamas.

And we knew exactly what to call our shop.
